Live In The Right Now!

When I think about the footsteps that I am taking through life, I have to pause for a moment and think about if I am "living in the right now."  When I think about that, for me that means; I am not taking yesterday into today.  Yesterday's problems and worries.  Yesterday's disappointments and failures. Yesterday's hiccups and setbacks.  Because if I am trusting the Lord each and everyday and moving about in HIS presence, then, there is no need for yesterday.  The Lord's mercies are brand new everyday.

My family and I live a busy life.  Busy with purpose. Every task has a meaning to it.  And we are careful to what we allow into our day and lives.  For us, there is no room for baggage.  We are learning to close the gap of that space in our lives that allows us to hold on to things that need to be released to the Lord. Our family has trusted the Lord for so much in the past 3 years. We made the choice to give Him full access in our lives. So when I think about how HE has come in and cleaned up our lives; to make the choice to stay into yesterday, stops us from living in the right now.

You see, in the right now, there is peace. The Lord gave that when we gave Him all the drama that was happening in our family. In the right now, there is joy.  He provided that when my husband and I made the decision to fight for our marriage and start loving one another.  In the right now, we have a faith, we can believe for the unimaginable and believe for better.  Our deliverance solidified that.  You see, you can live in the right now no matter how you lived yesterday.  Yesterday might have been your worst day.  Maybe it was like one of my past yesterdays; when you wake up with the weight of the world on your shoulders.  You and your spouse are not speaking and you probably went to bed not speaking to each other the night before. You are yelling at your kids because you are stressed out.  Your dreading going to your job, because you feel like you will be stuck their forever, and you badly want out.  Or maybe, you looked at your bank account and once again it's in the negative and you could have sworn, you added things up right this time and now the bank is just finding ways to take your money.  Yesterday comes with so much!

But, I want to encourage you in the Lord; Matthew 11:30 reminds us that the Lord's yolk is easy and HIS burden is light.  There were days that I had to remind myself of that scripture over and over.  No matter what I was facing, I remember that, because I had trusted the Lord with what was going on in my life; it was going to get easier.  Through the process, the load was getting lighter and lighter.  If I stay in yesterday, I make the choice to stay stressed out. I can't look beyond what I see and have faith for what I don't see. If I stay in yesterday, I block the opportunity for the Lord to do what needs to be done and for Him to show himself strong in my life so HE can get the glory!

But if I live in the right now ... I  can see my life changing, turning around for the good.  I can see beyond what's in front of me.  I can see that I have all that I need in this season to do for God what needs to be done.  I can serve Him, I can give sacrificially even when my budget says differently.  I can see my relationship with my daughter growing and I am making a difference in her life.  I can see myself forgiving (quickly), others who have hurt me.  I can wake up with peace and lean on joy.  Why, because, In The Right Now, God is working all things together for my good.

Live in the right now, no matter what it looks like and feel like.  Hey! you got up this morning. You found the strength to make it out of bed and dress yourself.  Don't waist today still hooked on yesterday.  Trust God, give yesterday over to Him and Live in the right now.  Right now, you have another opportunity to right your wrongs, right now you have the ability to step out on faith and believe for better, right now, you can forgive the person who hurt you; knowing that God is healing your heart.  Right now, you can redo your budget and get the wisdom to get out of the red. Right now, you can just be happy!!!

Remember, surrender all ...
