Before I begin with today's post. I first want to take the time to say "thank you" to everyone that shows some much love and support towards my blog. I am encouraged by your feedback and transparency. I am also grateful to the Lord for using me as a tool to be an encouragement and display His unfailing love and power while I continue to walk out my life with Him.
Today, I really want to encourage you in your faith and tell you to "look again." In 1 Kings 18:43 Elijah was ministering to his servant who was wavering in his faith, to go and "look again", and look 7 times. When I think about this and the instructions that Elijah gave; I reflect on how I have handled things in my life and how many times that I stopped the process for God to move because I didn't look again. But, I am also encouraged for the times that I did look again and I received the promise of the Lord. Much of my faith has been built on the scripture: Galatians 6:7 "Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man sows, that is what he shall reap." I had to understand, that if I was sowing good things, it was good things that I was going to receive. But to the contrary, if I was sowing doubt and unbelief (which at times in my life I have done that), that is also what I was going to get.
When I was rebuilding my relationship with my daughter I had to begin to sow different things. I had to sow love and nurture, time and patience, forgiveness and understanding. Believe it or not, I sowed financially to the Lord. Not with the intentions of trying to pay for a better relationship, but as an act of honor to the Lord, because I understood that it is His desire for me and my daughter to have a better relationship with one another and to build it on Him. While I have been sowing, I continue to look and "look again." And when I do look again, I continue to receive something from the Lord. Whether that something is; a scripture to stand on, strength to get through a challenging time, hope for better, an enjoyable moment with my daughter, or peace: the Lord does not leave me empty handed. I will not stop looking and if His word instructs me to look 7 times, than that's what I am going to do.
Don't quit ... because the Lord has not moved on your timeline, "look again." And keep looking knowing that God is not mocked. While you are looking, sow seeds for the fruit (results) you are looking for. If you are looking again for God to restore your marriage; sow forgiveness and seek God's love and strength for you in this season. When I was in the season of looking again for the Lord to restore my marriage. I sowed seeds of humbleness. While you are looking again for God to give you a better job, sow faithfulness in the job that you have now. If you are experiencing financial hardship, sow a seed of godly stewardship and create a budget and stick to it. Look again, look again, look again. Look again for peace, look again for wisdom and guidance. Look again for your healing, it is by His stripes that you will be healed. Look again for deliverance, believing that you don't have to stay the way you are today. Look again for a soft heart, not matter what has harden it. For 36 years, I looked again and again for reconciliation with my parents, and God's timing was perfect. Look again for a better life and sow the seeds of change...
Remember, surrender all...
