Don't Rush

As a wife, a mom, a woman with a career and even a friend; I find myself at times committed to so many things. Rushing to get from one place to another or trying to complete one task all just to start another.  There's not a rush because I am organized, I like to think that I am very organized.  I do my best to maintain a calendar and I am cautious not to over-book myself.  I think the rush comes because, the season of our lives change and we don't always recognize it right away.  So we are trying to do things that require us to be positioned differently, in a different season.  It's like when you have put on a few pounds, and you don't recognize that your shoe size has changed. And you are still trying to squeeze your feet in a size 7 when actually you are in a 7 1/2 or 8.  Or you have gone from medium width to wide width.  I am in a new season of my life and things are different, busier.  I am recognizing in this season that I need to walk in ...

What Are You Taking With You?

I've heard people say that a good breakfast helps to start your day off right. Breakfast is one of my favorite meals of the day.  If I have breakfast, a good breakfast that is.  Not just an "on-the-go" breakfast, I have energy and I am ready to start my day off right. Sometimes, because I really do want to eat a good breakfast with all of my favorite things and I don't have time to sit down and eat it.  I will pack it up and take it with me! You know, there are a lot of things that we take with us in the mornings when we are getting ready to start our day for; work, school, meetings or appointments.  This morning, as I was running around making sure that I had everything that I needed; my work bag, lunch, the kids, my keys and coat.  When I got in the car and caught my breathe, I realized something.  Every morning, besides the normal things that I take with me.  I take something else as well.  If I am running late, or have had to chase my boys...

Look Again !!!

Before I begin with today's post.  I first want to take the time to say "thank you" to everyone that shows some much love and support towards my blog. I am encouraged by your feedback and transparency.  I am also grateful to the Lord for using me as a tool to be an encouragement and display His unfailing love and power while I continue to walk out my life with Him.  Today, I really want to encourage you in your faith and tell you to "look again." In 1 Kings 18:43 Elijah was ministering to his servant who was wavering in his faith, to go and "look again" , and look 7 times.  When I think about this and the instructions that Elijah gave; I reflect on how I have handled things in my life and how many times that I stopped the process for God to move because I didn't look again.  But, I am also encouraged for the times that I did look again and I received the promise of the Lord.  Much of my faith has been built on the scripture: Galatians 6:7 ...

Don'f Forget Your Vow!!!

"If  a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth." Numbers 30:2. Last night in our youth group service, our youth pastor continued his teaching on "sacrificial giving", making and keeping your vow.  I was so blessed by the message because it really made me think about the vows that I have made to people in my life and to the Lord. I think about vow that I made to my daughter when I was a single-mom and it was just me and her.  I promised her that I would do my best to make a better life for us, so we wouldn't have to continue to struggle.  Promising her that I will would be a better mom, marry a good man and she would not be without a father.  I will never forget the day that, when she was 3 years old and I took her by the hand to comfort her  from being upset that her dad had broken his promise, his vow to come and see her. ...
