Don't Pass Me By (part 2)

I am so excited to share with you the encounter that I had today. Achieving the goal of multitasking; I'm at Walmart picking up a few things; while waiting in line, I'm on the phone with my husband. I get to the cashier and end my conversation with my husband (I didn't want to be rude and stay on the phone) .  I acknowledge the cashier and asked her how she was doing.  Her response was, "nervous." Compelled to find out why, I asked her.  Waiting for the response of, "It's my first day, or this is my first time or register." She gives me an answer that I did not expect. She says; "I'm nervous because I am meeting my daughter that I gave up for adoption for the first time this weekend." Stunned by her response, I can't say I knew exactly how to respond. But, I remembered the first part of this post and wanted to cease the opportunity to encourage her. As I was talking to her (showing the excitement in my heart for her) I encourag...

Don't Pass Me By ...

I'm not sure how this post will turn out, but, I am just going to go with the flow! Don't pass me by ... I am hurt and have been rejected by so many. Don't pass me by ... My marriage is falling a part and I am without hope. Don't pass me by ... I am a single-mother trying to work, raise my kids and make it to the next day. Don't pass me by ... I am thinking about taking my life. Don't pass me by ... I have been abused. Don't pass me by ... My life is a mess and I still haven't met this God everyone speaks about. Don't pass me by, don't pass me by, don't pass me by ... Recently, I have been meeting a lot of new people and listening to their stories.  They are not famous and you probably will never read about them in the daily headlines; but, believe it or not, you have met them. These women; they are me, they are you, they are the ladies that you pass everyday in the hall on your job. They are the ones you stand in line with at Walma...

Stay Focused and Stay The Course!

This week my son is state testing for school.  I was so proud of him this morning during his turn to pray, he asked the Lord to help him during his testing. I was also embarrassed that I had forgotten about it and even made myself a mental note to make sure he gets a good hearty breakfast this week -  so, I flopped on day 1, but, I got it the rest of the week :)  My son is 8 years old and he is in 2nd grade.  He's like any boy his age ... living life as a superhero.  Everything is an adventure and a mission.  I find myself a lot saying "focus, come on buddy, you have to focus!" So this morning, when I was talking to him, I reminded him to stay focus. Explaining to him that his attention and mind needs to be focused on the task at hand, what is happening and worrying about only himself and only the things that effect him. I explained that, with him staying focus, it also helps him to stay on track ... stay the course! Not letting anything or anyone, throw h...

In Someone Else's Camp

Everyday many of us get up and leave our homes to travel to work, school, appointments and meetings. And when we leave our home, our camp, we leave our foundation.  The foundation of my home is a Christian foundation; built on biblical principles.  We don't have perfect home, but it doesn't stand on shaky ground either.  We stand for truth and do our best to line our lives up with God's word.  Our home is our camp; it's where we laugh together, make memories as a family, keep certain traditions, pray and intercede, fall together and rise again like an army.  In our camp, we are raising our kids by truth (God's word), building our core-beliefs and teaching right from wrong.  In our camp, we are like-minded, we have created a culture that we all have an intricate part in the operation of it and the focus is the Lord and His Kingdom. But, when we leave our camp and we step outside; we now enter someone else's camp.  And their camp doesn't have what your...
